Festive performance from Theddlethorpe Academy

Children from Theddlethorpe Academy put on a fantastic Christmas Performance for parents on Friday.

Principal of Theddlethorpe Academy, Susan Cook, introduced the show and welcomed parents, who filled the hall as the year groups joined together to perform The Christmas Story in Carols.

Pupils throughout each school year performed Christmas songs and gave great renditions of traditional carols such as ‘Silent Night’ and ‘It was on a starry night’.

There were also upbeat popular songs such as ‘Santa Claus is coming to town’ and ‘Jingle Bells’.

The children wore Christmas jumpers and dressed up for their performance, which was held at Theddlethorpe Village Hall.

The pupils each had their own lines to say and spoke with great confidence.

At the end of the show, the children all sang ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’. The children then stood to wish parents a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

A second rendition of ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’ was sung, with parents, teachers and support staff all joining in for one last song.

Parent of Layla Coldicott said: “It was so lovely. It makes you feel really emotional when they all perform together. It was great.”

Another added: “I really enjoyed it. The carols were all sung really well and I think the Christmas jumpers and dances just made it so fun. It just makes you feel so Christmassy.”

Teacher of Years 3 and 4, Mrs Edwards said: “I am so very proud of everyone in KS2. Their effort was tireless leading up to the performance. Their confidence shone on the day and some found confidence they didn’t know they had.”
