Theddlethorpe Academy Nursery Application Public Consultation Afternoon. Parent Kerri-Anne Cone chats with Tollbar Multi Academy Trust Managers (l-r) Paul Kaylow and Paul Donnelly.

Parents have greeted news of expansion plans at Theddlethorpe Academy with approval after voicing their opinions at a consultation afternoon held at the academy.

The event gave Tollbar Multi Academy Trust staff the opportunity to discuss the academy’s application to expand its existing Early Years provision to three-year-old children from September 2018.

Theddlethorpe Academy currently caters for children between the ages of 4 and 11 years and hopes to expand this following the completion of a new double-classroom nursery block alongside the academy, which is now well underway and which will cater for 30 children.

Kerri-Anne Cone from Mablethorpe, who already has a son Finlay in FS2 at the academy and a 15-month-old son Alex, said: “This is really good news. I already have Finlay in school here so Alex is familiar with the school. One drop off would be perfect and then I could head straight to work.”

Principal Mandy White, said:  “Parents are being very supportive of  our plans to expand our Early Years provision. Since Theddlethorpe Academy became a member of Tollbar Multi Academy Trust we have proved consistently that we can give our children a high-quality education. We are now ambitious to give younger children the best possible start to school.”

The consultation process will end on Thursday March 8 2018.
