Sports Day Fun at Theddlethorpe Academy

Children across all year groups took part in Sports Day with bright sunshine last week.

PE Teacher, Mr Mansey and Sports Leaders from Somercotes Academy attended to help with the running of the day.

They were extremely supportive of the primary pupils and helped with confidence and encouragement to complete their events.

The sporting event at the Academy is supported by Premier Education.

The children took part in various events such as sprint races, relay, assault courses, sack races, bean bag races and the 'egg and spoon race'.

Parents and carers attended to watch the competitors in the sunshine.

During the break, ice lollies and ice creams were served from our local ice cream seller, Ice Queen.

The Academy’s cheerleading squad, Seals, performed for everyone at the end of the sporting events.

Cheerleading teacher, Miss Anderson commented: “The children have worked so hard on the routine and it was great to see them try hard on they day despite some technical difficulties, which we overcame. We look forward to our next performance at ‘Theddlethorpe’s Got Talent.’

Principal, Susan Cook said: “It is wonderful to see such a large number of families here to show their support for the pupils. The children get really excited and enthusiastic on days like this, and I believe that the pleasant weather and the fact that they can see their family cheering them on contribute to the overall enjoyment of the day.

Their positive attitudes and confidence were something we were all proud of and it was great to see them having so much fun.”
