What Is School Performance?

Performance data is collated by each school or academy to enable parents, Governors and others to make informed judgements about the achievements of children in the school. Performance tables are produced annually by the Department for Education.

Key Stage 2 Year 6 Assessment Outcomes

During May each year, Year 6 children take national tests in reading, spelling, punctuation, grammar and mathematics. The reading, spelling, punctuation, grammar and mathematics test were marked externally and the writing is based on teacher assessment.

The two measures reported on are:

  1. Attainment - the percentage of children achieving age related expectations
  2. Progress - the expectation is yet to be defined by DfE.
