Handwriting Workshop

Parents joined us for Handwriting Workshop.

The parents of Theddlethorpe Academy joined us this week by taking time away from their busy schedules to rediscover the joy of handwriting, as the children are currently engaged in the programme called ’Improvement in School through Handwriting and Art' (ISHA).

In the workshop the parents were shown the correct pencil grip, how to form the letters, the starting point, shape of letters and how the letters are positioned on the lines, as well as the correct sitting position.

One grandparent said they "really enjoyed it. It was very informative as we know it is being taught to the children."

One parent said: "It was a really good workshop, knowing we were going back to basics. Writing is now becoming a thing of the past as so much is done on computers."

Another added: "Extremely educational to know how the children are writing and we can support them. Well presented by Miss Robinson and lovely to see the children showing us how to do it."
