I'm writing to thank you for your support with our remote learning plan. We know that this is a new and different way of teaching and learning for both pupils and teachers. I am so proud of all of our pupils for their dedication and efforts with continuing their school work during this pandemic. Parents, we also know that school closure and digital learning has added a lot to your ‘plate’. Please know that we truly appreciate you hard work and your support.
Over the last few weeks I've attended many virtual meetings that our teachers have set up and spoken with pupils and parents and I'm impressed with the efforts of you all. Families, you are doing a great job.
Provision for children of key workers and vulnerable children
Theddlethorpe Academy will continue to remain open for children of key workers and those that are vulnerable. Many parents working in these sectors may be able to ensure their child is kept at home. If it is possible for your child to be at home, then they should be.
As you are aware we trying to keep the pupils and staff safe that are attending school. We are following government guidelines by operating class ‘bubbles.’ Parents should do everything they can to ensure their children are not mixing socially in a way which can continue to spread the virus.
However, some parents have raised concerns with the school that a number of our children are mixing outside their bubbles. We want to ensure that we are following the government guidelines to keep our school community safe, therefore social distancing principles should be observed at all times.
Facebook and Twitter
We are very excited to launch our Facebook and Twitter pages. We recognise that Facebook and Twitter are great ways to communicate school news, photos, and upcoming events and we hope by using social media we will further improve communications between the school and our community. We also view this as a way of further engaging you in your child’s daily learning more effectively.
