Reading Buddies

This past week marked the beginning of our "Reading Buddies" programme.

The purpose of this is to provide children with more reading practice and to make reading a more enjoyable experience for them.

Each pupil at the school gets paired together with either an older or a younger pupil.

The younger readers are able to get a better idea of what it means to read fluently since they have a peer model demonstrating their reading skills.

However, at the same time, younger children have the opportunity to ‘wow’ the older children with their reading abilities!

Getting others excited about reading can also be accomplished by talking about the texts that are being read.
