Shared Learning Brings Parents And Children Together

Foundation Stage children shared their knowledge of phonics with their parents during an afternoon of shared learning at the Academy.

Jenny Smith visited her son Thomas (5). She said: "We have been reading, decoding words and colouring them in. He got them all right. It is nice to come in and see him."

Kelly Scrivener enjoyed reading with son Alfie (5) in a tepee. She said: "It is so nice to see what they do at school and meet their friends. He is great at reading at the age of five. The standard of work is excellent. I'm always amazed at the level of teaching and learning at this age."

Susan Cook, Principal of Theddlethorpe Academy, said: "We are always delighted to welcome parents into the school to see what their children are doing and to encourage them in their learning."
